Luna Quezon City. Childhaus is a temporary shelter for indigent kids with cancer. The kids stay here while they undergo therapy, dialysis and check-ups or until the staff are assured that the kids can go home safely. Many of Mother Ricky’s celebrity friends have stepped up and help him with his advocacy. As such, they were also present during the opening of Childhaus’ new home. It was sad to see that there were new cancer patients there and most of them are so little, that is why Chummy Chum did its best to make the kids happy by giving them fun and entertainment. You can also help these kids through the Chummy Chum Foundation Come and share your blessings with these kids.

Chummy Chum Visits Ospital ng Makati for the first time

Chummy Chum went to visit Ospital ng Makati located at Bgy. Pembo Makati City. This is the first time for Chummy Chum to be at the said hospital since we thought that Osmak, as what the hospital is famously called, is a private/semi-private hospital, the reason that CCF has not held a gift-giving/outreach program their. Now that we know that Osmak is a government hospital and caters to the indigent people of Makati, we will continue to hold monthly visits here as per the request of their hospital staff.

This is the only public hospital we know of that is fully-airconditioned. Indigent patients here are treated just as how patients that belong to the middle or upper class are being treated, with utmost care.

Since we’re new, staff and other patients were asking us many questions as to why we do what we do without us endorsing any product. We explain to them that this is Mr. Ramesh Genomal’s (CCF President)  way of sharing his blessings to the kids.

Most of the doctors have our calling card and told us that they also have lots of outreach programs and are hoping to have a tie-up with CCF. Thank you to Ms. Paulyn for the added refreshments.

Chummy Chum went to the Daughters of Charity, located in Paranaque City, for a feeding program to the indigent children living there. Their compound is so beautiful and peaceful it looks like a hacienda. One could not imagine that amidst the hustle and bustle of city life therein lies a serene place where one can commune with the Lord. This is one of the missions of The Daughters of Charity, to enhance the human behavior through knowing Jesus.

The sisters help a lot of indigent Filipinos, especially kids, and organize programs such as feeding and alternative learning system. CCF is one with them as Chummy Chum  brought smiles and cheers through entertainment and give-aways to the beneficiaries. Ms. Paulyn Pacia for her blessings with the indigent kids and provided additional refreshments.

Chummy Chum went to Quezon City General Hospital-Out Patient Department (QCGH-OPD) for a hospital visit being one of CCF’s beneficiaries of Child Maintenance Survival Equipment Program (CMSEP Division). There might have been some miscommunication as the new hospital director of QCGH was not informed about CMSEP and had no idea that their hospital is one of our beneficiaries, but things were settled eventually.

Chummy Chum nevertheless entertained the kid patients of QCGH-OPD and brought them snacks and freebies. Thank you to Rex for the additional refreshments.

Chummy Chum and Saint Augustine Nursing Students conduct Outreach Program at Guanella Home

Chummy Chum received an invitation from the nursing students of Saint Augustine-Novaliches to for their Outreach Program at Guanella Home for Special Children and Adults located at Pingkian Rd., Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

The students wanted to bring happiness and cheer to these persons with special needs as most of them were being neglected and not being cared for by their families due, perhaps, to lack of knoweldge about their conditions. The home staff of Guanella serve as angels to these kids and adults alike. The home staff invite sponsors and groups with generous heart, to share a day and interact with them.

As what has always been Chummy Chum’s mission, we of course do not pass up the opportunity to share our blessings with kids, especially those who are marginalized  in our society. And as always, the kids’ laughter and smiles are ultimately the best reward we can ever get.

Chummy Chum Visits Valenzuela General Hospital (Valenzuela Medical Center)

Chummy Chum went to visit the OPD Ward of Valenzuela General Hospital (Valenzuela Medical Center) in the morning, contrary to what was originally scheduled. We were supposed to visit San Lorenzo Ruiz Women’s Hospital OPD (SLRW) today and visit VMC on Friday (Sept. 7), but since we’re already at VMC anyway, we decided to hold the activity in the morning and go to SLRW in the afternoon.

Close to 40 patients were present at the OPD section of VMC. The kid patients were all delighted to see Chummy Chum and receive gifts, that they forgot they were sick and are connected to an IV. They all lined up for snacks and freebies and happily played and danced with Chummy Chum. Thank you to Ms. Karen Mendoza from Bel Air Makati for providing additional refreshments.
