Chummy Chum at Kids’ Ranch 6th Church Anniversary

CCF went to Sariaya, Quezon as per invitation from Kids’ Ranch, a home for street kids founded by an Australian lady who married a Filipino.
Today, they celebrate the founding anniversary of the said orphanage and their Church community. Through the years, they have helped quite a number of abandoned children and have honed them spiritually.
CCF made the children happy thru games and entertainment. We thank Ms Lea and Ms. Loren, our volunteers, for helping us out. Thank you also for bringing gifts for the children.
After the games and prizes courtesy of Ms. Ann Chi, Chummy Chum came out and entertained the kids with a dance number. After the party everybody went to the church for their worship service.

Chummy Chum in Calvary Foursquare Gospel Church’s “Compassion Children’s Month"

CCF Team headed to Calvary Foursquare Gospel Church in Sta. Mesa, Manila to grace their “Compassion Children’s Month”. When we got there, we were happy to see that there were so many balloons decorating the place. For sure the kids will love them they see them.
Calvary Foursquare group was kind enough to offer us lunch when we got there after experiencing heavy traffic along the way.
After that, we set up our booth and started to cook 300 bags of popcorn. While we were cooking, they started the program with a prayer and worship for the children. After the worship service, the party commenced and the children danced along with Chummy Chum. After the closing remarks the kids rushed to get the balloons and they got all the more excited when I opened the bubble machine.

Chummy Chum with SM Foundation's Medical Mission in Sucat, Paranaque

CCF team went to SM Sucat for another medical mission tie up with SM Foundation.
When we arrived, the SMF staff were already there because they said the security is very strict and they were being asked for permit but when it was our turn, everything was ok and we were able to enter smoothly. When the registration started, the children could not wait and were so excited that they even wanted to buy popcorn and balloons from us. We told them that we will give them popcorn for free after their medical checkup.
There was this kid who requested for a balloon because it was his birthday. Since he was already done with his checkup, we did not only gave him a balloon but also loot bags courtesy of Mr. Rex, toys from Ms. Karen, popcorn and Chummy Chum freebies.
Director Erick Tayag of the Department of Health (DOH) was also there and even danced with Chummy Chum.

Chummy Chum Graces Childhaus’ 11th anniversary

Philanthropist Ricky Reyes invited CCF again to celebrate Childhaus’ 11th anniversary.
Mother Ricky, as popularly known, regards himself as a ‘professional beggar’ in the sense that he asks for monetary support from his affluent peers for children with cancer that temporarily resides at Childhaus.
Such generous peers include SM mogul Henry Sy who saw the sorry plight of these cancer-stricken children who need to endure long travel time from V Luna, Quezon City to PGH in Manila just to undergo chemotherapy. It was Henry Sy who provided Childhaus in V. Luna and today he also vowed to sponsor the construction of another Childhaus Center in Agoncillo St., Taft Ave., Manila so that the kids will not have hard time travelling.
During the celebration, CCF was there along with several food booths lined up. We are proud to say that we were the only booth that did not collect any fees.

Chummy Chum Visits Gat Andres Memorial Hospital

CCF went to Gat Andres Memorial Hospital as part of our monthly hospital visits.
As early as 6AM, many kids are already there to register for a free checkup. Most of the children present have fever, flu, cough and colds.
Medicines are also given for free, a project in which Manila Mayor’s office is proud of because they get to help the poorest of the poor in their community. Chummy Chum, on our part, help the kids by cheering them up and ease away their fears and pain.
Big thanks to Mr. Rex Ford for the loot bags.

Chummy Chum with Mrs. Sison for a birthday treat for Cancer Kids

CCF Team headed to National Children’s Hospital (NCH) located at E. Rodriguez St., Quezon City to celebrate Mrs. Sison’s birthday with cancer kid patients.
Every time we go there for an outreach event, we see different faces. Most of them are newly diagnosed with cancer or leukemia.
It is indeed heartbreaking but this is reality. CCF help them by entertaining them and giving big smiles on their faces, that even for just a couple of hours, they will forget the pain and just be happy like a normal kid. While the party was ongoing, a parent came up to us and thanked us because her kid was very happy since this was the child's first time to experience a party complete with mascot and lots of gifts.
It is just but unfortunate that the joy her kid is experiencing will only last for a moment and after this they are back to the sad reality.
That is why NCH is very grateful to donors and foundations such as CCF in making importance to these children.

Chummy Chum with Ms. Edz and friends for a double birthday treat with SPED Kids

CCF Team went to Fourth Estate Elementary School located at Brgy. San Antonio, Paranaque City with Ms. Edz and friends to celebrate her special day as well as Mama Mary’s birthday with the SPED kids.
We went to the school early and set up our booth. While waiting for Ms. Edz and the program to start, we had a light banter with the SPED kids.
It’s good to know that once the therapy began for a kid with special needs, such as social exposure in a school, they tend to develop social skills like that of a normal child. There is one kid that is new to the school and was never exposed in a big environment, that child easily had tantrums and the parents had a hard time pacifying him.
So to parents with special children, we suggest that you let your child enjoy the company of other kids to develop their communication and social skills as well as gain self-confidence.

Chummy Chum with Mr. Rex at Kanlungan sa Erma Ministry

CCF Team accompanied Mr. Rex and friends to Kanlungan sa Erma located at Benitez St., Manila to help fulfill their wish to have an outreach program for the poor kids.
For over a year, the team of Mr. Rex is looking for an orphanage or a poor community that they can help.
CCF led them to Kanlungan sa Erma so they can share their blessing to these poor kids. Our team went there early to set up what we need such as preparing and cooking popcorns. When Mr. Rex and his friends arrived, they started the program with games in which the kids actively participated in.
They gave out lots of prizes and freebies for the children. Chummy Chum came out at danced with the children. Mr. Rex and friends went home with a happy heart knowing that they have imparted what they have to children who need them the most. Since Kanlungan sa Erma is near their place, they vowed to come back and help the kids again thru donations.
