Chummy Chum Brings Joy to Kids of Ascension Parish during Christmas Gift Giving

CCF Staff went to Goodwill II in Paranaque City for Ascension Parish Church’s Christmas Party for Kids. The event was held at the covered court.

Almost 500 poor kids were present at the event. This is the first time that we received an invitation from the said Parish thru the kindness of Esta Family who yearly helps underprivileged children in depressed communities of Paranaque such as Masville, Sampaloc, Seacom, etc. and give them Christmas gifts.

For today’s event they were able to get many sponsors and one of them is CCF. It is nice to see such group that go out of their way just to make poor children happy by giving them presents and added entertainment courtesy of Chummy Chum. The kids were also given lootbags with popcorns and Chummy Chum freebies including coloring books and materials.

Chummy Chum with Ma’am Darah & Family for Her Yearly Christmas Treat to Poor Kids

After the morning event, our group headed straight to Commonwealth in Quezon City in a house owned by the Villanueva Family.

Every last Saturday of December, poor people from the area are invited for a gathering outside the Villanueva house. The family share their blessings to the less fortunate. For this day, Ma’am Darah together with her relatives will continue the said tradition started by the Villanueva Matriarch. They promised their mother that they will continue this tradition for generations to come.
Before Chrismas time, Ma’am Darah has started to ask her friends and relatives for donation so that when the day of the event arrives, they would have gathered enough goodies to distribute to the poor.

The Villanueva family was happy for the effort being shown by the CCF Team that they also gave us Christmas presents. It was also delightful to know that even though Ma’am Darah’s eldest was afraid of mascot, they set that aside and think of the poor children that would be happy when they see Chummy Chum.

But before the said event, CCF Team went to the Daughters of Charity to personally donate 100 bags of popcorn as well as gifts, balloons, loot bags and toys courtesy of Mrs. Sison, for their Christmas Party. Once again, thank you Mrs. Sison for your generosity.

Chummy Chum Graces San Pedro Calunsod Christmas Gift Giving for Poor Kids

CCF Team goes to Muntinlupa for San Pedro Calunsod group’s yearly gift giving event.

Almost 1,000 kids were present in the event. But due to limited time, we were only able to cook 500 bags of popcorns.

CCF Team was already at the venue by 7am so we could cook and set up, but it was already 10am and the gift giving activity was still on going. The sponsors gave each child a gift that was placed in a wrapped shoe box and in it were school supplies that the kids can use when they go back to school.

The kids were all delighted to see Chummy Chum who entertained them with a dance number.

Chummy Chum Graces ERDA-Baseco Christmas Party

After the first event, CCF Team headed straight to our second ERDA Beneficiaries from Baseco Compound located at Tondo, Manila. Today is their Christmas Party and there were so many food that the mothers brought in.

The party was held at a venue that was quite small compared to the number of attendees but we learned that the people are already used to this scenarios.

Our new driver had a hard time parking our van because there was a drunk person who slightly bumped his taxi’s side mirror on our van and was reprimanding our driver. But the bystanders attested that it was the drunk man’s fault. Most of the places that CCF goes to are depressed areas so encounters such as this is unavoidable.

Nevertheless, the kids had a great time during the party with all the snacks, entertainment, toys and freebies from Mrs. Sison, that they received.

As always, thank you Mrs. Sison for your generosity!

Chummy Chum at Erda-Pandacan Christmas Party Courtesy of Mrs. Sison

Chummy Chum went to Pandacan –ERDA in Manila for our first event for the day. We had a difficult time going to the venue as we got lost along the way due to so many eskinitas and also lack of coordination with the organizers.

Eventually we found the place and immediately set up our table and cooked the popcorn. At that time, the kids have also started to arrive.

However, there was also miscommunication as to the age range of the beneficiaries. The gifts that CCF & Mrs. Sison prepared are intended for primary level but when we got there, the children were mostly elementary students. Nevertheless, the children still enjoyed the party as well as the gifts they received from Mrs. Sison such as lootbags, toys, spaghetti and also Chummy Chum freebies.

The children were very excited when Chummy Chum came out. They all scrambled to go to Chummy Chum and danced along with our adorable mascot. All in all, we are happy to see the big smiles on the children’s faces.

Chummy Chum with CSB Students at Sarnelli Center for Street Children

After the morning event, CCF Team headed straight to Sarnelli Center in Redemptorist Church for a gift giving event with Ms. Jess and College of St. Benilde Students.

Sarnelli is special because this is where Ms Rowena, CCF Operations Manager, used to work. That’s why every year she makes it a point to find them sponsors for their Christmas Party. Today, she helped Ms. Jes and her group to hold a gift giving activity in Sarnelli.

Ms. Jes along with the CSB students do charity events every year and they ask us to find them an orphanage or a very poor community wherein they can share their blessings and this year, it is Sarnelli.

The said Center is quite lucky because the ever so generous Mrs. Sison donated two cakes as well as lootbags for all the kids present in the event. Thank you Mrs. Sison!

Chummy Chum Graces Christmas Party for Kids with Special Needs at Correctional Institute for Women

For the first event of the day, CCF Team went to Mandaluyong to grant the invitation of a Police Officer to sponsor a Christmas Party for the special kids of some of the prisoners in a Women’s Correctional.

This is our first time to visit the place. The event was held inside the facility. We got in after 30mins, after the inspected our bags and made us leave our cameras and cellphones that’s why we only got pictures outside the Correctional.

Inside we got to meet the inmates who were dressed in orange duster with ID. Visitors like us have stamps on our hands. The facility looked good and the program was well organized.

We arranged gifts and lootbags, given by Mrs. Sison, on a table and readied the popcorns. Everyone had a great time especially when the children danced along with Chummy Chum.

It was a nice experience and we are willing to go there again, if ever we receive another invitation. It’s just too bad that we didn't get to take any pictures inside.

Chummy Chum Joins Ms. Jinky and Friends for Gift Giving Activity at Blessedville

After the first event, CCF headed to Alfonso ‘Itaas’ to grace the invitation of Ms. Jinky to join them in sharing their blessings to children of Blessedville by giving Noche Buena packages.

This is their response to the request of Ma’am Bhel of Blessedville. In five years that we have been helping Blessedville we notice that the little children with special needs that we see here have now grown.

CCF together with Ms, Jinky and friends have shared almost P25,000.00 worth of Noche Buena Packages for all the SPED kids.
Not all see the positive side of things because there were those who questioned why some of the children were given Noche Buena packages even though they are not poor. They would have felt the joy if all were equal. Well, as the saying goes, we cannot please everybody. In gift giving, we prefer to give more to those who have less.

Chummy Chum Brings Joy to 300 SPED Kids of Alfonso Municipality Christmas Gift-Giving

CCF Team went o Alfonso, Cavite upon the invitation of the Municipality of Alfonso to sponsor the snacks and entertainment of SPED Kids in their community.
The gift-giving is held every year wherein they give gifts to children with special needs as well as two thousand pesos (P2,000.00) in cash courtesy of generous sponsors.
CCF provided popcorns and other giveaways for the beneficiaries. The venue was a bit far from our HQ so we took the expressway going to Alfonso. When we got there, the children were already waiting for us.
The organizers were already distributing gifts as we scurry to cook the popcorn. All in all, it was a fun event and the children enjoyed the Christmas treat.

CCF Joins GTVL Christmas Party for Employees and their Families

GTVL holds its annual Christmas Party for its employees and CCF Team is there to join in  the fun. CCF is under the umbrella group of GTVL.
Our bosses holds said party as their way of thanking the employees for their hard work and loyalty.
Numerous food that were already packed for lunch till dinner were served. Employees brought their children and even they received gifts from CCF as well as popcorn and cotton candy.

Aside from the Chummy Chum freebies, Mrs. Sison also donated lootbags, juice and balloons.

Thank you Mrs. Sison from the bottom of our hearts.

Chummy Chum with Mark for Christmas Treat for Kids with Cerebral Palsy

For the first event of the day, CCF Team went to Philippine Cerebral Palsy Institute (PCPI) located at San Antonio, Makati City for a Christmas Party for the children.

This is where the poor children afflicted with the disease, have their therapy. Almost 50% of those who come here cannot afford the therapy sessions.

CCF was invited once again, along with Mr. Mark Garcia who donated burgers and lootbags for the children. Mrs. Sison donated balloons and several freebies.

The children enjoyed the party although some of the kids could not eat the food that was served because they can only eat oatmeal. Nevertheless, PCPI Staff still organize such gathering as requested by the parents.

Just seeing the colorful balloons, mascot, etc., gives these kids happiness.

Chummy Chum Graces PGH PediaWard & SPED Kids Christmas Party

CCF Team went to Philippine General Hospital in Taft Ave., Manila for a Christmas Party for PediaWard patients (Ward 9 & 11) and SPED Kids.
We had a difficult time securing a permit for the said activity because the hospital has a new hospital director and even though we have done numerous charitable activities with PGH in the past, those were not taken into consideration and they still had us go through a tough process.
Those who wanted to simply share their blessings to the children would also undergo an arduous process. Even a simple letter of request sent to the Director’s Office would still warrant another trip to find out if it’s approved or not.
Despite the difficulty as well as our desire to bring happiness to these kids, we still pursued our purpose and thankfully was granted a pass through an invitation from their pedia staff.
Big thanks to Ms. Ruth Salasiban for the gifts and balloons.

Chummy Chum With Ms. Chie at Gawad Kalinga Kids Christmas Treat

CCF Team headed straight to Nasugbu, Batangas for the 2nd event of the day. It was Ms. Chie’s birthday treat to poor kids as well as Gawad Kalinga’s Christmas Party.
Ms. Chie is not that well-off, she prepared a simple treat for the children such as spaghetti and juice. But nevertheless, the kids at Gawad Kalinga received gifts, lootbags, balloons and clown entertainment.

The families living in Gawad Kalinga are doing well although some were complaining that it was far from where they used to live in Manila. They are now used to it and they are thankful to CCF because we get to visit them despite the distance.

The party started with a prayer and was followed by entertainment courtesy of the clowns. When Chummy Chum came out, the children got excited and danced along with Chummy Chum. While the kids were eating, the clowns were doing magic tricks.

We left Batangas feeling fulfilled knowing that we have made many Barrio Kids happy that day.
