Chummy Chum with SM Foundation's Medical Mission in Poor families in Calamba

CCF team went to SM Calamba Laguna carpark for another medical mission tie up with SM Foundation.
When we arrived, the SMF staff were already there everything was ok and we were able to enter smoothly. When the registration started, the children could not wait and were so excited that they even wanted to buy popcorn and balloons from us. We told them that we will give them popcorn for free after their medical checkup.
There was this kid who requested for a balloon because it was his birthday. Since he was already done with his checkup, we did not only gave him a balloon but also loot bags courtesy of Aral Pinoy and Chummy Chum freebies.

Chummy Chum with Aral Pinoy for their ‘Libreng Salo-salo Treat’ to Poor Kids of Old Balara

After the morning event, CCF staff headed to Old Balara in Quezon City upon the invitation of Aral Pinoy.
When we arrived at the location, it was scorching hot. The organizers only had a tent set up. We had second thoughts if we will continue setting up or not because we were worried that the cotton candies will just melt because of extreme heat. But we decided to stay as we saw how excited the children were. We just had to find a way to block the sun and put a wet towel on our heads to somehow cool down.
The program started and the clowns entertained the kids. While waiting for the guests to arrive, CCF gave away prizes to the delight of the children, afterwards people from Aral Pinoy arrived. Chummy Chum came out to entertain the children while they enjoy the food.
Since our home is pretty far, we excused ourselves and told them that we will go ahead and since we only supposed to stay for 2 hours in an event.

Chummy Chum with Mr. Jorolan Family Treat Cancer Kids of Bahay Aruga

CCF Team went to Bahay Aruga in Malate Manila for another charity event. Bahay Aruga is a halfway home for children afflicted with cancer and are having chemotherapy sessions in Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
The founder of Bahay Aruga is very thankful to CCF for the help we extend to them because they have no source of funds and only rely heavily to what kind-hearted people give them. The gifts and donations we gave to them are of big help for their daily needs such as food and medicines.
Today we brought Mr. Jorolan to help cheer the children with cancer. He started doing this last year as he helped other cancer kid patients. He brought along his mother and sibling and they had the food catered as a treat to the children and their parents. When the guests arrived, they readied the food and afterwards Chummy Chum came out to dance and have photos with the children and the guests.
Thank you to Ate Lybs and friends for volunteering.

Chummy Chum Graces Rare Disease Event in Partnership with Mrs. Sison and UP College-Manila

CCF went to UP Manila to cheer up children with rare disease, upon the invitation of UP-Manila. It is a first time for us to have an outreach activity intended for children having rare disease. The event was carefully planned. As early as January, UP Manila has already reserved the scheduled slot to CCF.
At first I was not aware of this disease, so I looked it up over the internet and this is what I found; 'A rare disease, also referred to as an orphan disease, is any disease that affects a small percentage of the population. Most rare diseases are genetic, and thus are present throughout the person's entire life, even if symptoms do not immediately appear. Many rare diseases appear early in life, and about 30 percent of children with rare diseases will die before reaching their fifth birthday.[1] With a single diagnosed patient only, ribose-5-phosphate isomerase deficiency is considered the rarest genetic disease.

On this day everyone helped out to give happiness to poor children who are afflicted with this disease. We salute the parents of these children for taking good care of them, to Mrs. Sison for trusting us and for sponsoring CCF beneficiaries.

Chummy Chum Surprise Kids at Rosario Batangas for SM Foundation’s Medical Mission

CCF Team headed to St. Joseph College, Rosario Batangas City for another Medical Mission by SM Foundation.
The route we took going to Rosario was quite long but it didn’t really matter because we were delighted with the rural sight. When we got to the venue, only few people were there. It seems like not many people know about the medical mission.
We were joking around that our sale was down for today because we are used to seeing activities with huge crowd turnout.
The morning meal wasn’t ready yet so the staff of SMF were apologetic as popcorns were served to the doctors as ‘morning snacks’ but when lunch time came, we were pleasantly surprised by the deluge of food served to us and all the doctors and volunteers by the invitee.
We would like to thank SMF for paying CCF’s startoll fee.

Chummy Chum Joins Dra. Mancao in celebrating Grand Daughter’s Birthday at Bahay Aruga

CCF headed to Mendalla St, Valley 1 barangay San Antonio, Paranaque City wherein the Drop In Center for Bahay Aruga is located. Bahay Aruga also houses abandoned and abused kids as well as children with special needs. Here is where DSWD process the transfer of said kids to other centers.
Our Sponsor for today, Dra. Mancao is a good friend of Dra. Rorie of SM Foundation. Dra. Mancao’s granddaughter, KC, has started celebrating her birthday with less fortunate children since last year and they vowed to do this every year.
We got to the place, which was surprisingly near our HQ, we immediately set up our booth as visitors started to arrive and we were introduced to Dra. Mancao. She is an orthopedic specialist and she also does prosthetic. We were glad that she offered her help to us, free of charge.
The program ensued with games and prizes. After which, Chummy Chum came out and danced for the children and took a picture with them. Snacks and gift giving activity followed suit. KC and her friends were very happy to have a complete birthday celebration with the less fortunate kids. We intended not to show the faces of the children to protect their identity.
Big thanks to Ate Lybian and friends for volunteering.

Chummy Chum with Ma’am Esther & Family on her Birthday Treat for Cancer Kids at Bahay Aruga

CCF went back to Bahay Aruga at EAC Bldg., Malate Manila for another charity activity. Bahay Aruga houses children afflicted with Cancer and having their chemo sessions at Philippine General Hopital.
Most of the problems encountered by the owner of Bahay Aruga are the daily needs of the sick children such as food, medicine, PUV fares of the patients to PGH, among others. If donors like Ma’am Esther did not exist, they will not survive.
Ma’am Esther Magleo have been partnering with CCF ever since and has been helping Cancer Kid Patients by conducting gift giving frequently.
A month ago she requested to have a gift giving activity at PGH Ward 9 & 11 but when Ma’am Esther learned that the sick kids stay here at Bahay Aruga, she immediately asked CCF to arrange it and schedule the event.
Together with her family and friends, she celebrated her special day with the cancer patients at Bahay Aruga. We at CCF helps Bahay Aruga by bringing them sponsors and they are the ones who negotiate regarding their other needs.

Chummy Chum Lead Ms Lorella & Co. at Daughters of Charity

CCF Staff went to the Daughters of Charity in Sucat Service Road, Paranaque City for another charity activity. Daughters of Charity is a religious organization that has a church and a convent for nuns that teaches catechism to poor kids in the community. They also help these poor kids in their education.
Ms. Lorela, our sponsor for today, has always been on a lookout for less fortunate kids on whom she could share her blessings with. Her family conduct feeding programs for them.
On this day, she celebrated her special day with the children of Daughters of Charity, along with her family and friends with the help of CCF.
When our team got to the venue, the children were already there so we immediately set up our booth and cooked the popcorns. When Ms. Lorela and company arrived, they started the games for the kids who actively participated because the prizes for the winners were cash. When Chummy Chum came out, the children danced along with him and had their picture taken. After which, the kids lined up for gifts and freebies. Everyone went home happy and with big smiles on their faces.

Chummy Chum distribute chocolate drinks and freebies to SM Foundation beneficiaries to Medical and Dental Mission.

CCF had another joint venture with SMF Cares, this time at Muntinlupa City Community. We coordinated with the DSWD in Muntinlupa to gather up the poorest in their community for the free medical & dental services. The DSWD, in turn selected the poorest families on every barangay, especially those who cannot afford to buy medicine and those who are already sick and in need of medical attention, but have no money for it.
This is the reason why CCF supports this mission, they give importance to the poorest of the poor and give them benefits that they don’t normally receive. On our part, we are glad to help kids from these communities. One can never buy the radiant smiles and the warm thank you’s that these children give.
Big Thanks to Ms. Leizette for chocolate drinks.

Chummy Chum Brings Joy to Children at OMMC’s Medical Mission to poor families

CCF Team went to San Andres Gym, wherein all local hospitals of Metro Manila conducted a medical mission for Manila residents.
We received a text invitation from Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center Resident Doctor, inviting us to the said event. This is their share in the week-long birthday celebration of Mayor Estrada.
First day of medical mission is for Pedia wherein almost 200 kids were present. A lot of doctors participated in the event that’s why checkups went by fast. CCF Team was ahead of everyone else and has already set up our booth.
As we were arranging the freebies and snacks, including chocolate drinks, in the table, the doctors gave short lectures regarding proper hygiene. Afterwards, Chummy Chum came out and had photo ops with the children and the doctors. The children ran to our booth and made a beeline to receive snacks and freebies. The children all went home happily with the freebies they got.
A second batch of kids arrived, which came from a nearby area, and the same set up happened. There was a mother who asked us if it was Mayor Erap who was giving away the freebies and we informed her that it was not the good mayor, and that the freebies were courtesy of CCF and our supporters such as Ms. Leizette who donated the chocolate drinks.
Big thanks to you Ms. Leizette!
