CCF Team headed to Guanela Homes Servant of Charity located at Pinkian Road, Quezon City to assist Reed Elsevier on their Outreach Program for Children with special needs and mentally challenged adults.
It has been a long time since we visited the children here. There were some familiar faces whom we saw when they were just little and continually guided by the staff of Guanela Homes.
As we were setting up our booth, some kids remembered us. Reed Elsevier were very delighted of CCF’s free services. Although we have now a new rule, wherein big companies who tap our services are requested to donate P5,000 or P10,000 worth of cupcakes, juice or toys, etc. for the beneficiaries. Instead of cash payment, we request them for in-kind donations for our beneficiaries on our next activities.
The program commenced and when Chummy Chum came out, the children danced along with him and everyone had a great time, including the employees from Reed Elsevier. Everyone was treated to a simple lunch prepared by the group. They also prepared rice, canned goods, etc., that were donated to the center.
