CHILD MEDICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CMAP)

Started in 2018, CMAP's objective is to save lives and help for faster recovery of pediatric patients. The program is an immediate medical or clinical aid to terminally ill children who are financially incapable in their time of needs. The aid serves in non-cash form (like medicines or voucher (receipts) paid clinical procedures).

The CMAP has granted to 492 beneficiaries with cash assistance of Php 2.8M in total to date. In 2022, apart from the normal cash assistance, a few volunteer donors initiated to support the CMAP by providing livelihood to the parents of selected CMAP beneficiaries. It aims to help the parents to generate additional income that would help sustain the medical and nutritional needs of their sick children.  Some volunteer donors shared their blessings by sending quick cash via GCash to each sick child’s parent or guardian.  In 2023, a voluntary donor gave baby bunnies to sick children as he believes that pets help decrease stress. The companionship of a pet can help to ease anxiety and boosting self-confidence. It can also help children with their emotional and social skills.

For public hospitals that do not have available infant incubators or ventilators at the time a pediatric patient is in urgent need, Chummy Chum lends these types of equipment free of charge. Read More.
