Grateful for another year of life, Ms. Rhia chose to celebrate with children in her community who are facing serious illnesses. Coming from underserved families, these children carry burdens that their cheerful smiles do not always reveal.

Even at a young age, Seya and Noah are learning that children grow up in different circumstances—and that kindness can brighten another child’s day. Celebrating their birthdays with children facing illness became a meaningful way to share their blessings.

The visit could not restore what the fire had taken, but it gave the children a chance to smile, enjoy being children, and feel cared for as their families began again.

Blessed with good health and a loving family, Lola Remy celebrated her 83rd birthday by sharing joy with the children under the care of the Daughters of Charity in Parañaque City, in collaboration with Chummy Chum Foundation.

Joining as a special guest, Chummy Chum brought fun, gifts, and yummy treats—but above all, joy. Games, magic, bubbles, and dancing filled the celebration with laughter, while Ate Weng, the Event Team Lead, offered words of hope, reminding the children that they are precious and never alone.

Chummy Chum’s appearance brought delighted smiles as the children danced and posed for photos. Guests were gently reminded to blur the children’s faces when posting online to protect their privacy.

Lola Amie celebrated her 80th birthday by sharing joy and blessings with 100 children in Brgy. Pinyahan, Quezon City, including those whose families were affected by fire along NIA Road.

The children played, danced, and enjoyed special gifts, yummy treats, and souvenirs. Yet their happiest memories were the moments spent playing with Chummy Chum. For a little while, laughter eased the sorrow of the tragedy, giving children and their families a welcome moment of relief.

Ate Weng introduced the foundation’s mission before Chummy Chum appeared, delighting the children with hugs and happy photos. One little patient exclaimed, “You’re so big, Chummy Chum!”

For families arriving with barely enough money for transportation, these simple gifts brought comfort and joy.
