We had a little difficulty finding the venue because our ‘road expert’ Aldrin wasn’t with us at that time but we did ask around for directions. We finally got to the venue, a housing project by NHA for the illegal settlers from Manila. The program started with games hosted by clown as the delighted kids participated actively. CCF gave away freebies, even the students and one volunteer also have something for the poor kids. Thank you to S. Anchi for the additional refreshments and also to Aral Pinoy volunteers.

  • Chummy Chum Joins SM Foundation Medical Mission at Brgy Viejo Makati City

When we got to the venue, there were large banners of politicians of both opposing political parties, so both SMF & CCF were having second thoughts of continuing the medical mission because it may just be used for politicking. During these times, the urge to help the poor families especially children, always prevails so we continued with the mission. The program started with a lecture regarding oral health care for the children. After the lecture, the children lined up for popcorn and CCF gave them freebies such as coloring books for older kids because they are the ones who knows how to color. Based on what we saw, we think that it is better to give said things to poor children because they value whatever you give them.

The hospital’s admin became stricter with accepting donors and holding charity events at their hospital so most donors opted not to hold activities there. The Pedia Office was regretting the said policy because they lost a number of donors. So they requested CCF to hold a charity activity at their ward and they will be the one to coordinate everything with the admin office for it to push through. • Chummy Chum with Ms. Ahne & Family Share Blessings with Cancer Kids of Hemaward – NCH

Ms. Ahne startd by only volunteering in CCF charity activities and now it has been 6 years of partnership with her, and counting. On this day it is the cancer kid patients of NCH who are the beneficiaries of Ms Ahne. Last year she also spent her birthday with kids of NCH, though a different set. It just saddens us to know that some of the kids who were with us last year were no longer here now. To those parents who likes to feed their children with processed food such as hotdog, longanisa, tocino, hamburger, frues, etc., we advise you to refrain from giving them such, as those foods can cause cancer. hildren should be encouraged to eat more fruits and vegetables and less meat.
