Sharing kindness with little JK.

Writer: N GN G

“Sobra po akong nagpapasalamat sa tulong na aming natanggap, walang hanggang pasasalamat lamang ang aking masasabi bahala na po ang Panginoon ang magbalik sa kabutihan ng Chummy Chum.” – Nanay R.

CMAP 184: JK, 4, Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) with Tetralogy of Fallot, Philippine Heart Center

Little JK was diagnosed with heart ailments when he was just 4 months old. He went through open heart surgery at 2 years old. After 6 months of the operations, complications happened. He has rushed again to the Emergency Room where he was admitted right away. His whole body had swollen and his liver was misaligned. That quick action spared little JK from a possibility of a heart transplant.

The mother is the breadwinner of the family, JK has two other siblings, he’s the youngest. The father could not work as he was the one taking care of his sick child, and looking after the 2 other children, who have been seeing their parents as heroes, because despite scarcity, they do not stop doing their best to provide for their sick brother.

The mother works 3 days a week. She would sell viand to her co-workers, which had been sold out always, as they (co-workers) knew where the proceeds would be used.

Chummy Chum extended immediate help to little JK with Php 15,000 worth of medical assistance, for his medicines and nutritional needs as well as something to share with the family.
