With the kindness and dedication of Ms. Mina, the event became a magical children’s party created especially for little ones who had never before experienced a celebration where they were the stars.

Soon after, the children surrounded Ms. Jeralen and sang a sweet birthday song just for her. Their tiny voices created a moment she would cherish forever—the most meaningful gift of her special day.

Smiles replaced weary expressions. Laughter echoed down hallways that had grown too used to silence. In Chummy Chum’s presence, the children felt seen—not as patients, not as burdens, but as precious souls worthy of joy. They felt loved. They felt cared for. And in that moment, happiness became its own kind of medicine.

For a little while, the ashes of yesterday felt far away. In that bright and beautiful moment, they felt seen. They felt loved. They felt special.

Among the pediatric patients was a terminally ill, bedridden child whose doctor had said his life was limited. Upon seeing the Chummy Chum mascot, the child suddenly rose from his bed, full of energy, and joined in the fun and games. He delighted in the gifts and toys he received. Though he passed away shortly after the program, his mother thanked Chummy Chum for giving her child happiness in his final moments.

For the first time, the children were having a real party - a celebration that was created just for them — a day where they were the true stars. They played games, laughed loudly, and cheered with delight. And when Chummy Chum himself appeared, dancing and hugging everyone, their smiles grew even brighter.

They learned that many of the children were new patients who had never met Chummy Chum before. But any uncertainty disappeared the moment the mascot stepped out and burst into dance. Laughter replaced shyness, and soon children were happily lining up to choose their free toys and enjoy their hot meals.

What began as an ordinary hospital day turned into a joyful celebration. The once-quiet pediatric ward sparkled with life.

Early in the day, the teams set up their stations, and soon the children were laughing and playing games—even in the limited space, their excitement was boundless.

Gratitude filled the room—from the children, their families, and the hospital staff—thankful not only for the gifts, but for the time, care, and happiness shared.

What followed was pure happiness: lively parlor games, shared laughter, and an unforgettable appearance by Chummy Chum, who danced, played, and exchanged warm hugs with the children. In those moments, the children felt truly seen, loved, and celebrated.

Most of the children excitedly posed for photos, treasuring the moment as if they had cellphones of their own—when in truth, they were simply happy to be fully present, sharing a joyful moment with Chummy Chum.

Despite everything they’ve been through, the children were reminded that they are loved, remembered, and never alone.

The highlight of the day came when the SM City Sucat team personally handed out the Besties of Joy bunnies, allowing each child to choose their favorite color. Smiles lit up the room as every child cuddled their new plush companion.

Moving between venues (OPD Pedia on the 2F and Atrium on the GF) about 50 meters apart yet united by a shared purpose—bringing hope to those in need.

As the venue came to life, children arrived one by one, their excitement growing at the sight of popcorn, cotton candy, balloons, toys, and colorful decorations. Games, prizes, and a fun-filled magic show soon followed, filling the space with laughter and wonder.

For a while, worries and discomfort seemed to fade as laughter filled the room, especially when Chummy Chum himself appeared to join the fun.

Indeed, sharing blessings with children who need them most is one of the most meaningful experiences one can carry for a lifetime.

Everyone thanked Chummy for the simple yet meaningful help and love he shared—felt most deeply by the children, who were reassured that they are seen, loved, cared for, and never alone, even in life’s most difficult moments
