A Birthday Wish That Brought Joy to Young Warriors

14 March 2026

Brgy. Bignay, Valenzuela City

Last Saturday, a heartfelt birthday wish became a meaningful celebration for children with serious medical conditions from underserved families.

To mark her son Nathan’s sixth birthday, Ms. Rose chose to celebrate with gratitude by giving back. Thankful for the blessing of another year in Nathan’s life, she wished to bring happiness to children who endure physical, emotional, and mental challenges due to their illnesses.

The event was held at a community covered court decorated with colorful balloons and a cheerful Chummy Chum booth filled with treats and special gifts. Ms. Rose and her family personally prepared food packs and gifts for all the children and hosted a program filled with fun parlor games.

The highlight of the celebration was the appearance of Chummy Chum, whose lively dance performance brought excitement and laughter to everyone. Nathan was especially thrilled—it was his first time meeting Chummy Chum, and it seemed he had found a new friend.

Many of the children attended in wheelchairs and could not jump or run, but their smiles and bright expressions showed how much joy they felt. Parents watched with tears of gratitude, touched by the kindness shown to their children.

Special thanks go to the Chummy Chum Foundation for providing special gifts, to SM City Store for their super cute bunny of Besties of Joy, and to the many people who shared pre-loved children’s items to make more children happy.

Indeed, a small act of kindness can create a lasting impact—bringing hope, courage, and joy to brave young warriors who need it most.
