Children who help their families put food on the table and get through each day often carry burdens beyond their years. Those who feel unseen, unimportant or forgotten are among Chummy Chum’s foremost priorities. They deserve moments of happiness, play and care—the simple joys of childhood.
When a narrow road prevented the team from reaching a fire-affected area, an unexpected celebration unfolded in a neighboring underserved community. Children enjoying their own simple trick-or-treat festivities welcomed a surprise visitor: Chummy Chum.
Bubbles floated above the roadside gathering as children laughed, clapped and danced with their purple friend. Parents watched with broad smiles, some holding toddlers while witnessing the cheerful encounter. Nearby, colorful balloons framed a table filled with plush toys, Chummy Chum pillows, coloring materials and snack packs.
With the community leader’s support and mothers helping distribute gifts, nearly 100 children received treats and a reminder that they mattered. For that afternoon, their neighborhood became a place of celebration where they felt seen, loved and cared for.
The Foundation thanks SM City Sucat, Zamony Venture Corporation, donors of pre-loved toys, and Sir B. for the biscuits that helped make the day special.
