Hospitals can be frightening places for children, but just before the Halloween holiday, Chummy Chum brought a welcome dose of joy to the Pediatric OPD of Novaliches District Hospital.
Colorful balloons and a Chummy Chum music video playing on the lobby television set a cheerful mood. Tables filled with plush toys, pillows, coloring materials and snack packs welcomed the young patients, who chose their favorite treats with their parents beside them. One little girl held a rainbow-colored plush toy, while another child looked up excitedly at Chummy Chum.
Mindful of the children’s medical conditions, Chummy Chum skipped dancing and active games. Instead, he stayed nearby, sharing each child’s joyful moment as they picked their gifts—a gentle celebration that helped make the hospital feel less scary and more welcoming.
With assistance from the Director’s Office, the visit reminded families that their children were seen, loved and cared for.
The Foundation extends its gratitude to Zamony Venture Corporation, donors of pre-loved toys, and Sir B. for the additional biscuits that helped brighten the children’s day.
