Chummy Chum has been a regular presence at Childhaus, a temporary shelter that offers free lodging to terminally ill children from underprivileged families across the provinces, outside the National Capital Region.
Recently, the Chummy Chum Foundation took part in a special celebration honoring the birthday of Childhaus founder, the esteemed philanthropist and beauty industry icon, Ricky Reyes—lovingly known as "Mother Ricky." Beyond his renowned talent in the beauty industry, Mother Ricky has become a symbol of compassion and generosity. Since founding Childhaus in 2003, he has remained steadfast in his mission to provide care, shelter, and hope to children battling life-threatening illnesses.
The bond between Chummy Chum Foundation and Childhaus traces back to 2010, when the two first collaborated during a charity event with the Finex Foundation. Since then, both organizations have worked hand-in-hand to uplift the spirits of young patients through meaningful and joy-filled celebrations.
At every visit, Chummy Chum’s colorful caravan arrives, bearing delightful treats, including popcorn, cotton candy, toys, and special gifts. But the true highlight is the presence of Chummy Chum himself, whose cheerful energy and kindheartedness light up the faces of the children. Even a brief encounter with the mascot creates moments of joy and lasting memories for children enduring the challenges of serious illness.
During the event, the children’s laughter echoed through the halls of Childhaus. For a brief moment, they could forget their pain and enjoy being kids—wrapped in the warmth of love, care, and celebration.
The Chummy Chum Foundation extends its heartfelt wishes to Mother Ricky on his birthday. May he continue to be blessed with the love, kindness, and fulfillment he so generously shares with others.
