Chummy Chum Brings Smiles Where They’re Needed Most

Chummy Chum has a special place in the hearts of sick children, always bringing joy where it’s needed most. Fifteen years ago, Chummy Chum visited children at a public hospital in E. Rodriguez, Quezon City. Among the pediatric patients was a terminally ill, bedridden child whose doctor had said his life was limited. Upon seeing the Chummy Chum mascot, the child suddenly rose from his bed, full of energy, and joined in the fun and games. He delighted in the gifts and toys he received. Though he passed away shortly after the program, his mother thanked Chummy Chum for giving her child happiness in his final moments.

This year, Chummy returned to spread smiles at Caloocan City Medical Center’s OPD — their second visit of the year. Children and parents were delighted as Chummy served up hot, delicious “Ginatang Mais” and held fun, simple games, turning a routine check-up into a special day.

Parents, nurses, and doctors alike expressed heartfelt thanks for Chummy’s year-round love and care. Special thanks go to Dra. Sacdalan for supporting the team, and to “SM City Sucat, Zamony Venture Corporation”, and all pre-loved toy donors for making the magic happen.
