Chummy Chum Foundation brought extra joy to a heartfelt Teacher’s Day celebration in partnership with Empowering WomensPH, held at a school auditorium for children with special needs.
As the team arrived, the venue was already buzzing with excitement—teachers were preparing gifts and surprises for their students. Chummy Chum set up their colorful booth, quickly drawing curious questions from attendees about the foundation’s free services, office location, and opportunities for future collaboration. The team gladly shared their mission and answered each question with warmth.
The program opened with a solemn prayer and the national anthem, led by one of the teachers. What followed was a string of lively parlor games that filled the room with laughter and enthusiasm. The children played, participated, and truly enjoyed themselves in a space where they were free to just be kids. A captivating bird show by Kuya Onard, held everyone in awe.
The most magical moment came when Chummy Chum made a surprise entrance. The children’s faces lit up with joy as they hugged, danced, and played with the beloved mascot.
A delicious lunch was served, along with treats like popcorn and cotton candy. Before heading back to the classroom, each child received special gifts, toys, and souvenirs from Chummy Chum and generous partner donors—Ms. Ann for the toys and Kokola Philippines for the tasty cookies and wafers, and WeCarePH for added treats.
Spending even a short time with children with special needs sends a powerful message: that they deserve the same love, joy, and attention as every other child. By treating them with kindness and inclusion, we affirm their value and dignity. This is the heart of what Chummy Chum does—spreading smiles and making every child feel seen, cherished, and celebrated.
