No.132: Maycee Estiva, 2, Hepatoblastoma, PCMC
Baby Maycee was diagnosed with very rare cancer after she suffered from continuous fever and found blood in her stool. She has a tumor in the liver. In September 2020, she was barely 1 year old, she underwent a major surgical operation to remove the tumor from the liver, but because the tumor was too big in size, surgeons were unsuccessful and only got a slice of the tumor for biopsy. The tumor was found to be cancerous, baby Maycee has been put to a series of chemotherapy since then.
Baby Maycee is the youngest among 4 children. The father works 3x a week as a production operator and the mother takes care of the children. The father’s earning is not enough to cover the basic needs of the family, to the extent at times the parents would endure hunger so long that their children are fed. The mother seeks any help that can be extended to her sick child.
October 30, 2021: Maycee received the help that her mom asked for her needs. Maycee was excited to see the Chummy Chum toy and the coloring book which she played as soon as she got ahold of them.
