Some have asked why ChummyChum does not usually hold events in orphanages during December. The reason is a joyful one—during the holiday season, orphanages are often the most visited and supported, making their children among the merriest at this time of year.
ChummyChum is genuinely happy to see orphanages filled with donors, celebrations, and love. Because of this, ChummyChum chooses to focus its efforts on children from poorer communities, especially those who are sick and children with special needs, who are less often reached and who need to feel seen, loved, and remembered during the holidays just as much.
On this day, the Chummy Chum team joined the holiday celebration of the children with special needs at Muntinlupa Elementary School. Most of them come from underprivileged families (and lack access to therapy) making these moments of joy even more meaningful.
ChummyChum didn’t just join the celebration—he arrived with lots of yummy treats, special surprises, and fun souvenirs for the children. The teachers put together a wonderfully planned program that made every moment joyful and meaningful for each child’s gentle heart.
Every class came prepared with amazing performances, filling the day with laughter, excitement, and well-deserved rewards of fun and happiness.
The children were delighted with the treats but absolutely overjoyed when they saw ChummyChum. The surprise visit turned the day magical—filled with dancing, hugs, laughter, and countless photos. In that moment, there were no differences, only children feeling loved and celebrated.
The teachers expressed heartfelt gratitude, and the event became a powerful reminder of how volunteering can bring pure joy to those who need it most.
Special thanks go to Sir TL for volunteering, Zamony Venture Corporation for the diapers, Bahay Aruga for the SM bears, and Ms. Liza for the stuffed toys used as game prizes.
