A Birthday Celebration Filled with Love

Mommy Sarah wanted to celebrate her and her children’s birthdays in a meaningful way — by sharing joy with the children at an orphanage through the Chummy Chum Foundation. After a few talks online, their special day finally came to life at the Reception and Study Center for Children, a DSWD-run facility that provides care for kids separated from their families.

While the center meets the children’s basic needs, the kind of joy the Chummy Chum Foundation brings is something else — a “Charity of Love” that speaks to the heart, going beyond just feeding hungry stomachs or warming cold bodies.

As always, the Chummy Chum team arrived early to set up — filling the venue with a long table of yummy treats and thoughtful gifts, plus a cotton candy and popcorn station that made the kids beam with delight. Mommy Sarah personally prepared food packs and gift bags for all the children, as well as meals for everyone involved. Colorful balloons added a festive touch.

The celebration started with a prayer and a lively program hosted by a funny clown duo who kept everyone laughing with games and magic tricks. The energy soared when Chummy Chum, the mascot, appeared, dancing amid floating bubbles and inviting the kids to join in. Their excitement was contagious, and many rushed in for hugs.

Mommy Sarah was deeply moved, calling the day one of her most unforgettable moments.

Note: In keeping with DSWD guidelines, children’s faces were not shown in photos to protect their privacy and security.
