Pasay Public Cemetery
The Chummy Chum Foundation made a surprise visit to the children living in the public cemetery of Brgy. Tramo, Pasay—a community where around 50 families have made temporary homes amid the tombs, unable to afford formal housing.
Originally intended for fire victims in the area, the event shifted location after learning those families had already been relocated. Without hesitation, the barangay officials welcomed the Chummy Chum team, eager to bring joy to children who had never experienced a real party made just for them.
The team set up colorful booths filled with treats, toys, and special gifts. Despite the summer heat, the children's excitement was unstoppable. Laughter filled the air during games and activities, and the arrival of Chummy Chum, the mascot, brought squeals of joy as the kids hugged and played with him—creating a rare and unforgettable moment of happiness.
For a while, the children forgot where they were. In their smiles, you could see they felt seen, loved, and celebrated.
Special thanks to WeCarePH for the congee and bread and to SM City Sucat for the cuddly Bears of Joy that added even more joy to the day.
