A Day of Joy at the Landfill Community

11 July 2025

Landfill Tambacan

Brgy. San Miguel, Pasig City

The Chummy Chum team, always in search of children who’ve never experienced the joy of a real party due to poverty, found children from a community with the help of PUSO (Pasig Municipal Urban Poor Division). These children live near a landfill locally called tambacan—a mountain of trash rising up to 20 feet, which also serves as their playground and livelihood.

With the big-hearted support of Ms. Mina from Check Group, the Chummy Chum team brought a magical day to life. Despite the rain, spirits were high as colorful balloons, cheerful decorations, and booths filled with popcorn, cotton candy, treats, and toys turned the muddy area into a wonderland.

Adding to the joy was Grandmom Nanette, who shared her blessings in celebration of her grandchild’s birthday—making the event even more special.

Laughter echoed as a funny clown hosted games and magic tricks, and the children feasted on spaghetti, cakes, apples, juice, and sweet surprises. The highlight came when Chummy Chum, the beloved mascot, arrived dancing and hugging the kids—making the joy feel truly real.

The event wasn’t just a party—it was a celebration of each child. In that brief but beautiful moment, they were seen, loved, and uplifted.

Heartfelt thanks to Ms. Garrie Ann E. Delos Reyes for the apples and lootbags, Zamony Ventures Corporation for the diaper packs, and all the volunteers who made the day smooth and meaningful.

This is the heart of Chummy Chum’s Charity of Love—bringing joy to children who need it most, with no expectation but pure love in return.
