A Heartwarming Birthday at the National Children’s Hospital

12 July 2025

National Children's Hospital

Quezon City

Every day, the National Children’s Hospital (NCH) cares for over 250 young patients, many of whom face serious and life-limiting conditions. Understanding the importance of palliative care, NCH welcomed the Chummy Chum Foundation with open arms—knowing how powerful joy can be in a child’s healing journey.

When Ms. Indhira chose to celebrate her birthday with sick children from underserved families, NCH was the perfect place. Chummy Chum, the lovable baby dinosaur, made his way through the wards, gently greeting each child—some already familiar with him, others meeting him for the first time. Smiles lit up the room as curiosity turned into comfort and connection.

While Chummy Chum couldn’t perform his usual dance, his presence alone brought excitement. On the 4th floor, the team—along with Ms. Indhira, Ms. Rhiza, and friends—set up a cheerful booth filled with food packs, sweet treats, toys, blankets, lootbags, and surprises for each child.

Though their bodies may have been weak, the children’s hearts were full. For a moment, they forgot the pain—reminded that they are loved, seen, and cared for by people they may never have met, but who genuinely care.

Even the doctors, nurses, and staff expressed their appreciation for Chummy Chum’s tireless commitment—rain or shine—to bringing joy to children who need it most.

A special thank you to Zamony Ventures Corporation for the premium diaper donations, and to all partner-donors whose kindness made this day unforgettable.

This is what Chummy Chum is all about—spreading hope, happiness, and love to every child, one smile at a time.
