A Heartwarming Surprise Visit by Chummy Chum at Pasig City General Hospital

July 18, 2025

OPD Pediatric, Pasig City General Hospital

For nearly 18 years, the Chummy Chum Foundation has reached out to sick children from vulnerable communities, offering moments of joy and comfort amid their difficult medical and social conditions. While public hospitals are usually their main destination, this time, the team made a special and unexpected visit to a private institution with a strong charitable mission.

Pasig City General Hospital, established in 1995 by the former city mayor, operates as a private hospital but is known for its deep commitment to public service. With 90% of its services dedicated to charity patients and only 10% to paying clients, it continues to provide quality medical care to the poorest of the poor.

The Chummy Chum team was warmly welcomed by the hospital’s directors, administrators, medical staff, and care workers—all of whom shared a common goal: to help those most in need. Though their approaches may differ, both the hospital and the foundation are united in purpose.

On the day of the visit, the hospital was transformed into a joyful space. Chummy Chum’s signature booth was set up, filled with free treats, toys, gifts, and souvenirs for the children. Bright balloons added a magical touch to the venue. The excitement reached its peak when Chummy Chum the mascot appeared. Although he couldn’t perform a dance due to safety and health protocols, he took the time to visit each child in the charity ward, greeting them with a wave and a cheerful presence.

For many of these children, it was the first time they had received guests bringing such joy. The visit brought genuine smiles and a deep sense of being seen, loved, and cared for.

The brief visit was a meaningful and successful one. Special thanks go to Zamony Ventures Corporation for their generous donation of baby diapers for infants aged 0–3 years, which made the day even more special.
