(Children from Fire-Affected Families)
Experiencing a fire can leave anyone shaken, frightened, and uncertain about the future. For the children and their families, this trauma became a harsh reality when a major fire struck last week. Most are still in evacuation centers, carrying heavy burdens far beyond their years.
Chummy Chum visited the fire victims, bringing joy, comfort, and a momentary escape from their hardships. The children who had cried during the fire were now smiling, their faces lighting up as they interacted with him. Their immediate embrace showed heartfelt gratitude for this small act of kindness.
Understanding that these children already carry heavy loads—and that disasters like this only make life harder—Chummy Chum’s team aimed to bring hope and lasting impact through simple joys. Hot champurrado, cold juice, biscuits, mooncakes, popcorn, toys, coloring materials, crayons, wristbands, teddy bears, balloons, diapers, and pre-loved clothes were prepared. Simple games were organized to keep the children entertained and cheerful.
Special thanks were extended to the Banal na Simbahan Group for assisting in the event, and to past donors of pre-loved clothes, with particular appreciation to Zamony Venture Corp., Kokola Philippine Inc., Bahay Aruga Paranaque, and Yun You for the mooncakes.
By bringing small moments of happiness, Chummy Chum reminds these children that even in the face of tragedy, kindness and hope can still shine brightly.
