OPD and Pedia Ward, Sta. Ana Hospital

Chummy Chum always makes time to visit children facing medical challenges in public hospitals — they are, after all, at the heart of why Chummy Chum exists.

On this day, the team headed to Sta. Ana Hospital, excited to share smiles and surprises with the young patients. Sta. Ana holds a special place in the foundation’s journey, having received an infant incubator from Chummy Chum back in 2015.

Upon arrival, the team quickly set up a cheerful booth filled with yummy treats, toys, gifts, and a big pot of home-cooked arroz caldo lovingly prepared just for the kids. The setup looked so inviting that some passersby thought it was for sale — but the team kindly explained that everything was a heartfelt gift for the children at the hospital.

At the OPD Pediatrics area, the program opened with a short talk about Chummy Chum’s mission, vision, and purpose. Parents, nurses, and doctors listened intently — and broke into applause, touched by the sincerity behind the foundation’s work.

Then came the games — simple, yet joyful. Laughter replaced the usual hush of the hospital, as the children momentarily forgot their discomfort and just had fun. The room lit up even more when Chummy Chum the mascot made his entrance, dancing and spreading happiness. Some children ran to him with open arms, overjoyed to meet the character they had only seen in pictures.

Each child received food, toys, and gifts lovingly prepared by the team. The visit may have been brief, but it brought light to what was otherwise a heavy day. For a few precious moments, the children felt strong, cared for, and full of hope — a beautiful reminder that joy, no matter how small, helps heal the heart.

Special thanks to The SM Store Sucat for the adorable Bears of Joy that added an extra touch of love to this special day.
