Fire Victims from Brgy. Sampaloc

Paranaque City

Despite the odds that the Chummy Chum Foundation has been facing in the last couple of weeks, the team did not hesitate to bring help to the most in need, especially if there are children suffering from hunger and difficulties. The team conducted a feeding program for the old and young, and brought gifts, yummy treats, and toys for the children. A simple act of sharing had a great positive impact on the victims as they felt the love and care at the time they needed to feel it the most.

The evacuation area where the fire victims were temporarily sheltered is a mini-multipurpose hall of the community. The electricity was shut caused of the fire, and the power supply was neither functioning, thus, making the venue a bit dark and hot.

The depressing aura in the venue changed as soon as the Chummy Chum team stepped in and started to set up the table with food and gifts. The children were very happy to see lots of toys in front of them, with the opportunity to pick a toy of their choice.

.

That very moment, it was just a bowl of spaghetti, a cup of cold fruit juice, a piece of toy, and a yummy treat, that somehow made the fire victims smile, a good start to cope, forget the tragic event that made their lives even harder, and live a fresh start.

Special thanks to Clearlogic Inc., for letting the team use their company van, Mam Thaly for a share of food, Tramo Central PH, WeCarePH, MX3 for food items, and The SM Store for the wonderful toys for the children.
