A Surprise Treat from Chummy Chum!

The Chummy Chum team brought a big surprise to one of Manila’s poorest communities, where families live in government housing. With help from the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) led by Ms. Lalaine, a festive booth was set up filled with yummy treats, colorful balloons, and fun surprises!

Even before they were called, curious kids came down one by one, drawn by the exciting setup—tables full of goodies, a popcorn machine popping, cotton candy spinning, and warm chicken macaroni soup ready to serve.

The event kicked off with a prayer and fun parlor games. Everyone who joined won a prize—because in this party, everyone’s a winner!

For many kids, it was their first time tasting fluffy cotton candy—and they loved it! As they enjoyed their treats, the SK team shared a quick talk about healthy, affordable foods. Then it was time to meet a very special guest… Chummy Chum!

The kids squealed with joy seeing Chummy Chum in person. They hugged him, danced with him, and couldn’t stop smiling. It was a magical moment full of laughter and giggles.

Before going home, each child received a gift and a loot bag. More than just presents, the kids felt truly seen, loved, and celebrated.
