A Surprise Visit Full of Love and Joy

Lahuerta Landfill, Paranaque City.

Chummy Chum made a surprise visit to children from families living in makeshift homes near the barangay dumpsite — a place where living conditions are beyond difficult, yet the people remain grateful just to wake up each day.

The team arrived early to avoid the intense heat, ensuring the comfort of the kids, the volunteers, and especially Chummy Chum the mascot, whose costume is sensitive to hot weather.

They set up a colorful Chummy Chum table filled with yummy treats, toys, and special gifts. The program began with a short talk from the team leader about the foundation’s mission, vision, and purpose, ending with a few inspiring words.

When Chummy Chum was introduced, the children rushed toward him with excitement, laughter, and hugs as he made his way to the event space. His lively dance performance got some of the kids up on their feet to dance along.

At the end of the program, the children each received food packs, treats, toys, and gifts — and for many, it was the first time they had ever experienced a real children's party just for them. That day, they felt truly loved and cared for.
