Children’s Day at the hospital with Chummy Chum.

June 14, 2022

It was Children’s Day at the San Lorenzo Ruiz General Hospital. The Chummy Chum team did not want to miss the day. They’ve prepared some goodies and special gifts a day before and drove off early morning the following day to meet the children who they’ve missed so much, as it was the 1st time again since the pandemic started that Chummy Chum is visiting the hospital located in Malabon City.

The Out-Patient-Department Pediatric Ward has been placed in an open area inside the compound of the hospital. The children has no idea what was about to happen that day. Until the Chummy Chum truck pulled over in the nearby area. It caught the curious eyes of the children, and they began to feel the excitement.

Members of the Chummy Chum team alighted from the mobile van, one by one carrying boxes full packed with surprises for the children. Ate Rowena with the help of some nurses and hospital staff set up the table placing the goodies and special gifts they prepared for the children. Tatay Aldrin set up the popcorn and cotton candy machine assisted by Kuya Edmund and Kuya Joel.

After a little while, the children got their share of popcorn and cotton candy. The Chummy Chum jingle medley surfaced in the air, and Chummy Chum (the mascot) came in surprising the children. Laughter and giggles follow.

At the end of the brief visitation, the team distributed the snacks and freebies to each child at the OPD-Pedia Ward. At first, the parents were also asking for loot bags, the team politely explain that what they brought was exclusively for the children only.

Thank you for the unending love and care of the founder of Chummy Chum, for the unstoppable commitment of the team, and to the voluntary donors – Ms. R for the loot bag items, Ms. Rona for the pretty paper bag, SM Store Sucat for the toys, and hundreds of cups of the Korean rice pasta by Pinkrocket.
