Evacuation Temporary Shelter for Fire Victims

The Chummy Chum team recently visited children from impoverished communities in Quezon City who had fallen victim to a devastating series of house fires. While many came to offer assistance, the Chummy Chum Foundation went beyond relief—bringing not only food and supplies but also joy, hope, and healing to young hearts who had endured unimaginable loss.

As the team arrived at the temporary shelter set up in a local school, children rushed to greet them and patiently waited with excitement while tables were prepared. These tables were soon filled with delicious treats and thoughtfully prepared gifts. Nearby, cotton candy and popcorn machines added a festive touch to the atmosphere, and the team served freshly cooked rice meals to ease the hunger of the displaced children.

Colorful balloons filled the space, creating a sense of celebration amid hardship. But the highlight of the day came when Chummy Chum himself made a surprise appearance. The children’s eyes lit up as the beloved mascot danced for them, offering laughter and lightness in the sweltering heat. Despite the discomfort of the costume under the blazing sun, Chummy Chum stayed—knowing that his presence alone could lift the children’s spirits and remind them that they are not alone.

The emotional moment reached its peak when the children rushed forward to hug Chummy Chum tightly, their cheers echoing with genuine joy. In that brief but beautiful moment, the burdens they carried seemed to lighten.

More than just a mascot, Chummy Chum embodies a mission—to inspire, uplift, and heal. The team consistently shares their story of compassion and service, encouraging others to follow their example and spread kindness wherever they go. Before departing, the team also left behind words of encouragement and inspiration to help guide the young minds through their journey ahead.
