As early as five in the morning, the Chummy Chum team began preparing a special porridge for the children confined at the Outpatient Pediatric Department of St. Ana Hospital. Upon arrival, the team discovered that the OPD Pedia had been temporarily relocated to the hospital lobby. However, their contact soon informed them that the young patients would be invited to another building for Chummy Chum’s much-awaiting children's party charity event.
As the team set up the food, popcorn, and gifts, the children slowly arrived—each face lighting up with curiosity and excitement. While popcorn popped and games were being prepared, the comforting aroma of warm porridge filled the air. Once everything was ready, the team began serving the food in paper bowls, sharing not just nourishment but genuine care and compassion.
The highlight of the day came when Chummy Chum arrived—dancing, waving, and spreading laughter among the children. Together with Dra. Tan, the team distributed gifts of love, bringing moments of happiness to those who needed them most.
For many of these young patients, who face illness and hardship from birth and come from families among the poorest of the poor, joy is a powerful medicine. It lifts their spirits, strengthens their will to live, and momentarily eases the sadness and pain caused by their conditions. This is the heart of Chummy Chum’s mission—to bring joy where it is needed most, believing that happiness can heal not only the body but also the soul. The children experienced a day filled with laughter, warmth, and hope.
Chummy Chum extends heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors and partners for their contributions, including Kokola Phil. Inc., Zamony Venture Corp., and Bahay Aruga Parañaque.
