Chummy Chum Brings Joy to Children Displaced by House Fires

25 April 2025

Brgy Obrero Quezon City

The Chummy Chum team visited Don Alejandro Roces Sr. High School, now a temporary shelter for families affected by recent massive house fires.

Excited children rushed from classrooms upon hearing the gatekeeper’s call, eager to see the Chummy Chum booth decorated with colorful balloons and filled with treats and gifts. The team served freshly cooked, creamy chocolate champurrado prepared earlier that morning.

The program began with a brief introduction about Chummy Chum, citing to everyone present at the venue that the initiative is a non-political act of kindness from a private organization focused solely on bringing joy to children in need.

Soon after, Chummy Chum the mascot appeared, dancing and spreading cheer. Laughter and giggles filled the space, lifting the children's spirits and offering a welcome escape from the trauma of the past week.

Chummy Chum helped distribute food, toys, and gifts—making meaningful connections with children who had lost nearly everything.

Families expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chummy Chum team for their time and effort. Special thanks go to the volunteers who ensured a safe and orderly event, and to SM City Sucat for donating the Bears of Joy stuffed toys.
