Chummy Chum Brings Smiles to Children Affected by Fire

7 June 2025

Bryg. Almanza Uno, Las Pinas City

Chummy Chum recently visited children from low-income families displaced by a recent house fire and temporarily staying at the Brgy. Almanza Uno covered court.

It was a seemingly ordinary morning—until the kids spotted the Chummy Chum team arriving with a long table of treats, gifts, and a colorful booth complete with cotton candy and popcorn machines. Balloons brightened the space, and local volunteers eagerly helped with the setup, turning the court into a magical haven.

The day held extra meaning as it also marked Rowena’s birthday—celebrated each year with underprivileged children since she joined the foundation in 2010. To mark the occasion, more food and gifts were shared than usual.

Barangay staff hosted the program, filling the air with laughter through fun parlor games. The highlight? A lively performance by Chummy Chum the mascot, who danced and hugged the kids—much to their delight.

But beyond the treats and toys, the heart of this charity event was to bring real happiness by spending meaningful time with the children. These moments of connection—of being seen, heard, and loved—are what truly stay with them. This is what the Charity of Love is all about: not just temporary joy, but lasting memories that warm young hearts for years to come.

The team also shared a short talk about Chummy Chum’s mission: to bring joy and hope to children in need. The heartfelt connection that day left a lasting impression on everyone present.

Heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Sison, Ms. Elaine, and Check Group for the toys, loot bags, snacks, milk, and cake for the kids—as well as food for volunteers. Special appreciation also goes to SM City Sucat for the adorable Bears of Joy, and to Clearlogic Inc. for donating brand-new undergarments.
