Chummy Chum Spreads Joy in One of the City’s Poorest Communities

4 July 2025

Dimasalang, Sampaloc, Manila

Chummy Chum made a surprise visit to a remote urban poor community, nestled deep in a narrow alley where children live in shanties and makeshift homes. Reaching them wasn’t easy, but the joy that awaited was worth every step.

The team brought a feast by the children’s standards—creamy champurrado, cupcakes, biscuits, and cold juice—far from the usual rice-and-salt meals, with fried egg being a rare treat.

The event kicked off with a short introduction about Chummy Chum’s mission: to bring joy where it’s needed most. Games with prizes kept the kids excited, but the real magic happened when the Chummy Chum mascot appeared, dancing and inviting everyone to join in. For many, it was their first time meeting him—and the connection was instant. The children hugged him tightly, cherishing the rare moment of being seen, loved, and celebrated.

Every child received snacks, toys, gifts, and keepsakes. Families with babies were also given diapers and vitamins.

Heartfelt thanks to Zamony Ventures Corporation for the high-quality diapers and the Minay Family for donating children’s vitamins. A simple act of kindness truly goes a long way.
