In most parts of the Metro Manila area, the Chummy Chum team has reached every location where there are children in need, the indigent, disadvantaged and unwell children.
In this Children’s Month, the team thought of visiting the children from the suburb of one of the cold towns in Cavite. It was a long drive on a rainy and gloomy day, but no matter what – the team has to be with the children.
It was the first time the little Cavitenos meet Chummy Chum. Chummy Chum showed up at the end of the storytelling. The children were very excited.
The small barangay, despite scarcity, took its best effort to prepare a program for the children as well as in welcoming Chummy Chum and the team. They dressed up some of their children in different costumes, and perform a dance number – the best part was when a little child in a native outfit did a showdown with Chummy Chum in a dance number. It was so cute. Everyone was very happy.
Almost 200 children from this community received gifts and yummy treats from Chummy Chum, toys, and special prizes shared by a voluntary partner donor Mam M.
Not in so many years, has the town been given this so much attention. With happy hearts and gratitude from the host – they prepared a good meal for the team. They were the town’s popular dishes.
It was a long tiring day, but Chummy Chum was able to bring joy and happiness to the children in need – that is what matters most.
