Chummy Chum brought a joyful surprise to children from underserved families living in a city tenement building. With some flats shared by three or more families, cramped rooms, limited natural light, and inadequate plumbing make daily life challenging.
For a while, the children’s familiar surroundings became a lively gathering place. The team led parlor games that had children eagerly forming groups, linking arms, and laughing together. Chummy Chum himself taught them a few dance steps before everyone joined him in a cheerful dance.
Bubbles filled the air as little hands reached up to catch them. Children gathered around their purple friend for high-fives and playful moments, while parents watched with smiles. Colorful balloons and a table of gifts added to the excitement, making an ordinary day feel special.
