For nearly two decades, Chummy Chum has been dedicated to bringing joy to underprivileged children, including those battling serious medical conditions from indigent families. In line with this mission, the Chummy Chum team recently visited young patients at the Pediatric Ward of Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City.
The visit proved especially meaningful as it coincided with the hospital’s week-long celebration honoring the hard work and dedication of social workers who tirelessly support patients most in need.
In preparation for the outreach, the team began their day early—cooking lugaw (rice porridge), assembling loot bags, and organizing toys, diapers, balloons, and other treats. Their goal was simple yet heartfelt: to bring comfort and happiness to the children.
As part of the program, a short storytelling session was held for a larger group of young patients, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere. The highlight of the visit came when Chummy, the beloved mascot, made an appearance—bringing the storybook character to life. Chummy warmly greeted each child, offering hugs and posing for photos with both children and their parents, who eagerly captured the special moment.
The air filled with excitement as the aroma of freshly popped popcorn spread through the ward. Mothers lined up to receive Chummy Chum’s giveaways, adding to the festive spirit of the day.
Hospital staff and doctors expressed their gratitude to the team for once again bringing smiles and joy to their young patients.
The Chummy Chum team also extends its sincere thanks to all who supported the initiative, particularly SM City Sucat and Zamony Venture Corporation, whose contributions helped make the outreach a success.
