Through the Rain, Love Found Its Way

Cancer Institute, PGH - Manila

The rain was pouring, but the mission continued. The Chummy Chum team traveled through the difficult weather to bring a special charity celebration to young patients receiving checkups, chemotherapy, and other essential medical care.

The event was made possible by Ms. Elaine, who has faithfully shared her birthday blessings for the past 15 years with children from underserved families, especially those battling serious and terminal illnesses.

As the team began setting up, the rain gradually stopped. Ms. Elaine’s food, gifts, and balloons were carefully arranged under a tent to keep everything safe and dry.

When the sky cleared, the brave young patients came down from the Outpatient Department and eagerly waited for Chummy Chum. Ate Weng, the team leader, shared the Foundation’s mission of giving back by bringing joy and hope to children most in need. Her words encouraged everyone to remain strong, hold on to their faith, and never lose hope.

The children’s faces lit up when Chummy Chum finally appeared. They may not have known that the team had traveled through the rain just to reach them—but every smile made the journey worthwhile.

Although Ms. Elaine could not attend personally, her staff represented her, and her love and generosity were deeply felt throughout the celebration.

Happiest birthday, Ms. Elaine! Thank you for 15 years of faithfully sharing your blessings and bringing comfort, joy, and hope to children in need.

Special thanks to SM City Sucat and Zamony Venture Corporation for sharing additional gifts and adding even more kindness to this meaningful day.
