World Kindness Day is just one date on the calendar, but for Chummy Chum, every day is a chance to bring joy to underserved children. This year, the team celebrated the occasion at the recently renovated Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center.

Doctors, nurses, and guards warmly welcomed the team back. With the hospital’s updated and air-conditioned OPD now buzzing with activity, Chummy Chum’s crew quickly set up and began popping fresh popcorn. The irresistible aroma drifted through the halls, drawing smiles from staff and excitement from the children—many of whom came from the pediatric wards and belong to families with limited means.

The moment Chummy Chum appeared the atmosphere lit up. Children who moments before looked tired or unwell suddenly ran, danced, and posed for photos, delighted just to spend a few minutes with their cheerful friend. It was a scene of pure joy—small but powerful moments no money can buy. After the fun, the kids lined up for simple souvenirs and special gifts prepared just for them.

The OMMC pediatric OPD community is deeply grateful for Chummy Chum’s short but joy-filled visit. It’s a gentle reminder to make every day a day of kindness.
