A Joyful Birthday Celebration with Chummy Chum at Novaliches District Hospital

Every year, Ms. Elaine celebrates her birthday by giving back — and for several years now, she’s chosen to spend it with the Chummy Chum Foundation, bringing joy to children from underserved families undergoing treatment in public hospitals.
This year, she wished to visit the young patients at Novaliches District Hospital. Though the location was a bit far, that didn’t stop Ms. Elaine and the Chummy Chum team from making the journey, determined to brighten the day for children in this part of the region.
The team rose early, collected food packs, and set up a cheerful venue filled with treats, toys, souvenirs, and colorful balloons. Cotton candy and popcorn machines stood ready to delight, while Chummy Chum songs played on TV, wherein children could sing-along, setting a joyful tone in the air.
Children at the OPD, waiting patiently for their turn with the doctor, lit up with excitement as they watched the team prepare. Their curiosity turned to delight when the team introduced the Foundation and its mission. Though games were not possible due to health concerns, food and gifts were lovingly distributed.
Hospital staff extended the celebration outdoors, allowing the children a sense of freedom and fun. When Chummy Chum finally appeared, the children’s faces lit up. It was their first time meeting him, but the connection was instant.
Chummy Chum danced, played, and spent time with the kids as bubbles floated around and laughter filled the air.
Though the visit was brief, it left a lasting impact — not only on the children and their guardians, but also on the hospital’s doctors, nurses, and staff, who were deeply grateful for the love, effort, and time shared.
Thank you, Ms. Elaine, for once again making your birthday a day of giving. May your kindness return to you tenfold in the years to come.
