Chummy Chum Brings Smiles and Relief to Flood-Affected Children

4 October 2025

San Dionisio, Paranaque City

Chummy Chum Foundation brought a wave of joy and comfort to children living in one of the city’s poorest communities, recently struck by devastating floods. A week after the disaster, the team arrived at the local barangay church, where children and their families had gathered for a much-needed moment of hope and healing.

The Chummy Chum team quickly transformed the venue into a cheerful space filled with treats, toys, and surprises. A booth stocked with snacks, special gifts, and souvenirs greeted the children, while the scent of freshly cooked spaghetti filled the air. Nearby, cotton candy and popcorn machines whirred to life, adding a festive touch to the atmosphere.

The program began with a prayer, followed by fun-filled parlor games that brought smiles to the children’s faces. As popcorn and cotton candy were served, the excitement grew—especially when Chummy Chum made a grand entrance. The children rushed to greet the lovable mascot, wrapping him in warm hugs. Chummy Chum danced with the children, turning the moment into a joyful escape from their recent hardships.

Each child was served a hearty snack and went home with a toy, special gift, souvenir, and a pack of rice. Parents with infants also received diapers to help meet their basic needs.

Though the visit was brief, its impact was lasting. In those joyful moments, the children felt seen, loved, and cared for—momentarily free from the trauma brought on by the floods.

Special thanks to generous partners: Ms. Anne for the toys, Zamony Ventures for the diapers, Kokola Philippines for the cookies and wafers, and New AsiaMed Healthcare for the rice packs.
