Whenever disaster strikes poor communities, like the recent massive fire that displaced families, the Chummy Chum Foundation is quick to respond—not just with aid, but with heart. While the local government and barangay ensure basic needs like food and shelter, Chummy Chum steps in to lift spirits, especially for the youngest victims.
At the evacuation site, the Chummy Chum team transformed a somber space into a mini wonderland. With hot meals, sweet treats, colorful balloons, toys, and even popcorn and cotton candy machines, they created a joyful escape for the children.
With support from the MSWD Disaster Team, the kids were gathered for games, prizes, and fun. But the real magic happened when Chummy Chum—the lovable mascot—appeared. Cheers and laughter echoed as he danced and played with the children, many of whom clung to him like an old friend, even though it was their first meeting.
Each child went home with a full belly, a toy or two, a few gifts, and gently-used clothes—small comforts that meant the world in the wake of loss.
Thanks to Zamony Ventures Corporation for donating premium diapers, and to Ms. KC for the pre-loved toys, books, and clothes. Their kindness helped turn a dark day into one filled with light.
Chummy Chum proves that even the smallest act of kindness can feed not just hungry stomachs—but also hopeful hearts.
