The Chummy Chum team did not think twice about accepting the request of Brgy. West Service Road to bring joy to the children from one of the most depressed areas in their barangay.
Despite the struggles of finding a secure place to gather the children, the team pushed through the narrow alley and set up the booth as soon as they found a place. Tables were arranged with toys, coloring books, Chummy pillows, freshly baked choco-banana muffins, cold fruit juice, and freshly cooked popcorn. The booth was adorned with playful colored balloons to set a joyful mode for the children.
Seeing all the goodness, the children were delighted, especially when Chummy Chum came out and personally handed each child the special gifts prepared for them.
The children felt they were special at that moment. It’s not often they receive a guest in their area bringing surprises for them. It was a hot sunny morning, but everyone who helped didn’t mind the sticky heat. They were bound to serve and bring joy to about 150 children in the area.
