  • TGIF for the children of Sunrise Creekside

8 March 2024 Indigent Children from the Sunrise Creekside San Antonio, Paranaque City Thank God It’s Friday, the most favorite day of the week for many people. For the children of Sunrise Creek, it was just amazing. Chummy Chum and the team visited the children from this part of the community in Paranaque City. Surrounding might look depressing, but the spirit of the children was so alive, especially when they saw and met Chummy Chum for the first time, up close and personal. Not every day, do these children receive a visit. It was just sweet and thoughtful. The Chummy Chum team brought a set of yummy snacks and a special gift for each child they met. The moment was brief, but the memory remains in the children's hearts. Chummy Chum has just met and made new friends. Thank you to all the volunteers and friends who helped make this visit successful.

  • Love & Fun Day with Sir Mike and Chummy Chum at the NCH

6 March 2024 Love and Fun Day for the Sick Children with Sir Mike National Children’s Hospital Earlier in March, the Chummy Chum Foundation received a query that turned into a request for a charity event for sick children in a public hospital. A fine young man with generous love wished to celebrate his special day with the less fortunate children and give them more than we used to. Sir Mike, as we call him, requested the team to prepare more food and gifts to be given to 100 children, the children currently confined at the Hema Ward, and those having a regular medical check-up at the Hema OPD. The Chummy Chum team was pleased and gratified with Sir Mike’s intention of making more children happier. The team was extra inspired planning for Sir Mike’s charity event. They recommended the National Children’s Hospital (NCH) as the venue of the “Love and Fun Day with Sir Mike”. Amidst the preparation, the team was delighted to receive another request from Sir Mike. He wanted to give Php 500 gift cash to each of the 100 children, on top of all food and toys. The entire team was extremely happy for all the children who were about to receive the blessings to be shared by Sir Mike. That day came, and the team took off early, they were meeting Sir Mike and his friends at the NCH. The team made sure everything was properly coordinated and prepared. Upon their arrival, the team immediately set up the table of food and gifts. They prepared the gift cash in a red envelope. The team together with Sir Mike started to go into the Hema Ward Pediatrics. The children on their hospital beds were excited to see them with the gifts that were prepared for them. They got more excited seeing the big guy in striped red T-shirts and Green pants – Chummy Chum (the mascot). Chummy Chum took time for a quick chat with some of the children but made sure he didn’t miss to nod and say “Hi” to all the children in every room they went into. Each child received food packs, special loot bags, and gift cash c/o sir Mike, along with the special gifts from Chummy Chum. The same gifts were received by the children at the Hema OPD, who were very happy seeing Chummy Chum together with Sir Mike and his friends. The entire team, doctors, nurses, staff, and social workers were very grateful for Sir Mike’s generosity and presence on that day. A total of Php 100,000.00 worth of food, toys, and cash gifts was willingly shared by Sir Mike with the sick children at the National Children’s Hospital. Sir Mike witnessed the hard work of the team – he extended a monetary appreciation, which the team appreciated and was very grateful. Message from Chummy Chum Foundation to Sir Mike: “May God bless your heart with greater love for the needy and wealth tenfold than what you shared, so you may continue helping the most in need." Happiest Birthday Nye Nye Bonel!. (Need to mention the amount for transparency) (The Chummy Chum mascot is 100% disinfected before and after meeting with the children, ensuring the safety of everyone from the dreadful diseases caused by community virus).

  • Visiting the children at the Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center

20 Feb 2024 (Tues) Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center (OMMC) Chummy Chum once again visited the Outpatient Department of Pediatrics and the Animal Bite Section of the Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center. They were giving a surprise visit to the children who were lined up for medical check-ups. Upon the team’s arrival, they were assisted by a nurse to secure and ensure that the charity event would be properly set up at the OPD. While the Chummy Chum team was preparing for the event, doctors who were present at the time inquired on how they can invite Chummy Chum to other charity events for the unwell children, which was explained well to them by the team. Finally, the popcorn was ready to serve, and the team called the children who were in the queue for a medical check-up. The children were excited to see Chummy Chum (the mascot) up close and personal. Everyone received goodies, special gifts, and a pack of hypo-allergenic facemasks which are perfect for children with medical conditions. The team could not resist taking some photos of the children who were smiling despite the uncomfortable conditions brought on by their sickness. Some of the children were playing with the Chummy Chum doll, some were excited about working on the coloring books, and some were just simply enjoying munching the freshly cooked popcorn. Along with the yummy treats are fresh-baked choco banana muffins and packs of fruit juice. The team also shared some toys with the children. Special thanks to Clearlogic Inc. for the hypo-allergenic facemasks, and to the Nursing students of the National University for giving a hand. (The OMMC building is new and well-built. We learned that the Out-Patient Department (OPD) building in next in line for renovation.)

  • Celebrating special day with the children of Kanlungan sa Erma

17 Feb 2024 (Fri PM) Charity Birthday Party of Ms. Fhe with Chummy Chum Kanlungan Sa Erma, Muntinlupa City A month ago, a kind-hearted woman from the US, Ms. Fhe, emailed the Chummy Chum Foundation wondering if she could spend her birthday with the less fortunate children preferably from within the Muntinlupa area, through collaboration with Chummy Chum’s Smile For Me Little One Program. She learned about the program from the foundation’s website. After a thorough discussion, the date was set and happening today. It was tough because there was a scheduled event in the morning that was scheduled earlier. From the morning event in Quezon City, the team drove hurriedly (and carefully) to Muntinlupa for Ms. Fhe’s event. Navigating to the place of the event was a little confusing.  It was the first time for the team to conduct the event in PACSA, the chosen venue of KSM.  The team got lost on the road. Finally, after a few minutes, they got back on track. A little delayed in time, but they reached their destination safely. The children were already waiting for them. It was their first time to meet Chummy Chum and the team. The team started to set up at the venue. Ms. Fhe’s family was there too helping with all the needs to make the children comfortable in an enjoyable environment. The children were very excited seeing all the food and gifts prepared for them by Ms. Fhe and Chummy Chum. The program went very well. A funny clown entertained the children with a magic show and parlor games. Just before the program ended, Chummy Chum (the mascot) came out which made the children more excited. Headed by Chummy Chum, the children offered a Happy Birthday song to Ms. Fhe. Ms. Fhe was happy too, she made her wish before she blew the candle. The children were served with delicious food packs, cotton candy, and popcorn. They also received gifts from Ms. Fhe and Chummy Chum. The day was really tiring but the joy that the event brought to the children was priceless. Chummy Chum and its team will never get tired of anything if it is for the happiness of the less fortunate children.

  • A simple smile that describes how happy they were inside.

22 December 2023 Heart Warrior from Paranaque City Chummy Chum and the team spent time with the children who may have the basic needs but not the privilege to do all the things that normal kids do. They have fragile hearts, a condition that they can’t laugh out loud, they can’t scream for joy, they can’t play hard with the other children and just be a happy kid. With their condition, the team managed to put a smile on their faces that describes how happy they were inside. Special thanks to Ms. Ainah, Ms.Sheila, and Ms. Elaine for the food and special gifts.
