For many of these young patients, who face illness and hardship from birth and come from families among the poorest of the poor, joy is a powerful medicine. It lifts their spirits, strengthens their will to live, and momentarily eases the sadness and pain caused by their conditions.

This visit was all about bringing happiness to children, healing their scared and unhappy hearts, and reminding them that they are loved and remembered. Even a short moment of laughter can mean the world to a child who’s been through tough times.

Laughter echoed through the OPD. For a few precious moments, these young fighters forgot their pain. They weren’t patients—they were simply kids having fun.

The children's attention wasn’t on the food or toys—it was on the joy he brought. Because in moments of hardship, it's not the material things that matter most, but the feeling of being seen, loved, and cared for.

To top it off, the children sang a heartfelt "Happy Birthday" to Kuya Jones. Hearing their sincere voices, knowing the hardships they face, made the moment incredibly moving. Their happiness was genuine, their burdens momentarily lifted by the love surrounding them.

Initially focused on making a financial donation, the LPEA team quickly discovered the deeper meaning of hands-on giving. They arrived early to help with the setup and were soon immersed in the spirit of the event—fun, connection, and shared purpose.
